Midsole: Ergo-Motion dual material midsole adapts to the foot’s dynamic characteristics. During lateral movements and quick changes of direction, higher pressures are exerted on the lateral side (outside) of the foot. This is why the SFX Ergo-Motion midsole features 2 different materials to equalize pressure. REVAX (rubber and EVA) on the medial side is a more resilient and softer material to absorb higher pressures. EVA light on the lateral side of the midsole provides excellent cushioning. Kompressor System heel cushioning technology for maximum shock absorption and comfort. The Kompressor system is an innovative heel system made with EVA cushioning and TPR filled tubes. When the heel hits the ground, the shock is equally absorbed by the entire Kompressor system for consistent, dynamic response. 3D ergonomic shank to guide lateral movement and provide torsional integrity. Outsole: Babolat’s exclusive Michelin all court outsole offers outstanding durability. Developed in collaboration with Michelin's R&D team, this outsole is specially designed to give players the highest performance over a longer period. The outsole design and structure are defined for optimized traction and ground contact on any surface. Flex grooves cut into the outsole promote natural foot movement.

INTRODUCTION:  Everything about this shoe tells me it was designed with foot comfort in mind. Slightly heavier than the super light Propulse 3, the SFX is, if anything, even more comfortable. It has cushioning and padding in all the right places, and I had no issues at all with anything that caused even the slightest hint of discomfort. If the shoe were a car, I'd liken it to a luxury sedan that had been modified to offer great performance on the track.

The cushioning in the heel takes all the impact out of impact; the shock absorption really is superb. The insole feels as though it's molded to your foot, and the ventilation is also impressive. One other thing that I really liked was the relatively wide upper shoe area. Having a wide foot, I really appreciated the absence of any restriction or tightness in this area.

One other thing I really liked was that the shoes retained their comfort level very well, even as they neared their use by date. Many shoes start feeling hard underfoot when they lose a little of the cushioning on the sole. This was definitely not the case with the SFX's due, I think, to an insole that is exceptional.

ARCH SUPPORT: The arch support in the Babolat SFX is as good as anything I've worn. The contour and shape of the inner part of the shoes seemed to adapt to my foot, pretty much as if they'd been custome made for me.

FOOT SUPPORT: The Babolat Propulse SFX's combine a soft, cushiony, comfortable feel with really good foot support. It's a great combination as the light weight, cushioned soles and strategically placed padding make moving so effortless, and the foot support that you get means that you feel completely secure when moving explosively.

Durability: Durability of the Babolat SFX Mens Tennis Shoes is well above average. I wore the pair I tested until they reached the end of their shelf life. I don't like stating how long the shoes lasted as I am really rough on shoes. But comparatively speaking, the SFX's measure up really well against the performance shoe opposition. The outsoles were the first area of the shoe that wore out, but they lasted incredibly well all the same.

TRACTION: The Babolat SFX's grip the court well. In the many hours I wore them, I neither slipped nor "grabbed". No traction issues whatsoever.

SUMMARY: Along with the Babolat Propulse 3, the Babolat SFX's are a superb entry into the performace shoe market. They score very well in all areas and have further enhanceded Babolat's standing and reputation as a top of the line brand in mens and womens tennis shoes.
